The safest home insulation - linen insulation

Eco-friendly insulation - This is a natural insulation, consisting of 100% linen or hemp fiber. Thermolinen and Thermohemp is an environmentally friendly insulation that does not contain harmful additives and adhesives. The fibers are bonded together using thermosintering technology. Eco insulation is the best eco-friendly insulation for the home, it is used for both external and internal insulation.

Insulation for home made by linen

1.    Environmentally friendly insulation from flax does not contain phenol-formaldehyde compounds and does not emit harmful substances when heated. It does not contain hazardous chemical compounds, glue and, unlike mineral wool, is not a source of harmful dust, since the fiber is very strong and it is very difficult to destroy it.

2. Hypoallergenic - Environmentally friendly insulation consists of flax and hemp fibers, which are not allergenic in nature, so they can be used by people with asthma or allergies.

3. Durable – thermal linen and thermal hemp are not susceptible to high humidity and falling into the dew point, are not afraid of temperature changes, and do not change their characteristics when they get into adverse conditions.

4. Vapor permeable - eco-friendly insulation for the house has a tubular fiber structure, the insulation perfectly passes without accumulating moisture, and at the same time retains its thermal insulation properties. Moisture does not accumulate, but easily evaporates into the air, preventing the appearance of the greenhouse effect and protecting your structure from condensation and high humidity.
5. Increased thermal insulation characteristics. Due to the property not to accumulate moisture in itself, the thermal insulation characteristics of eco-insulation in natural humidity do not decrease, unlike mineral counterparts. Therefore, the thickness of linen or hemp insulation is required by 30% less in comparison with other materials.
6. Antiseptic – natural insulation made from flax and hemp has antibacterial and antifungal properties, preventing the development of microorganisms, and resistance to mold and decay, and even in wet insulation – bacteria are not bred. Prevents a damp smell.

                            Technical description of linen mats

Range of application: heat and sound insulation of walls, ceilings, floors and roofs

Type of application: W and WL - according to DIN 18165-1

Linen heat and sound insulating materials consist of:

  • flax fiber
  • recoverable binder fiber
  • environmentally friendly flame retardant

Thermal conductivity:

  • Lambda10 = 0.038 W/m Kelvin, following ISO8301/ DIN52616 and WLG 040 following – DIN 18165 (same as mineral wool).

Specific heat capacity: c = 1940J/kg Kelvin

Water vapor diffusion coefficient: μ = 1-2 according to DIN 52615 / DIN 4108-5

Moisture absorption: according to EN-ISO 12571 / DIN52620

Air permeability: 230x10-6 cu. m/m sec Pa

Estimated service life: at least 75 years

Benefits in terms of environmental safety and impact on human health:

  • no possible health risks associated with mineral fibers
  • do not pollute the air and water
  •  does not rot, inhibits the development of mold, fungi and other microorganisms
  • does not contain resins, adhesives, formaldehyde compounds
  • do not emit formaldehyde and chlorinated fluorite carbons (CFC)
  • have a good energy balance
  • hypoallergenic, do not dust and do not crumble

Benefits in physical properties:

  • much better soundproofing
  • increased resistance to temperature fluctuations, resulting in a less dramatic change in temperature inside, resulting in a more comfortable indoor climate
  • due to the capillary nature of the fiber, a very good ability to absorb moisture is manifested, which has a beneficial effect on the building structure

Main characteristics:

  • composition - linen 100%
  • thickness 50 mm
  • density 20 kg/m3
  • material delivery form - plates
  • sheet 1.30 cm wide - 1.80 meters long (2.34 m2)
  • thermal conductivity (W / mK) - 0.038
  • thermal conductivity class of material – low
  • moisture absorption by volume - no more than 9.8%
  • cost 150 UAH / sq.m.
